Delta canal network
Waterways thread through the town and the surrounding fields in a dense lattice of thin lines, which gives the map its most characteristic texture.

La mappa
Zhujing Map Poster & Print
Zhujing lies in Jinshan District, in the far southwest of Shanghai municipality, on the low, flat ground of the Yangtze delta. Water defines the landscape here. Rivers and canals cross the area in every direction, and from above they form a fine network that fields, villages and roads have to work around. The town sits among these channels, and its streets bend where the water does.
Like many places on the edge of Shanghai, Zhujing combines an older town pattern with newer planned districts. Wide straight roads and large rectangular blocks mark recent development. The older fabric is smaller in scale and follows the waterways. On a map the contrast is clear: an irregular, organic core set inside a regular grid of modern expansion.
A Zhujing map poster shows a side of Shanghai that visitors rarely see, far from the skyline of the Bund. The delta's waterways still shape the city here. In a clean black-and-white print, the thin canals and river lines give the composition a delicate, hand-drawn quality that suits a calm interior.

Planned new blocks
Large rectangular blocks and broad roads mark newer residential and industrial areas. They contrast clearly with the older, smaller street pattern near the water.
Flat delta landscape
There are no hills in the frame, so every line on the map comes from water or from planning. The result is an unusually even and balanced composition.
