Addison is a small town in the northern suburbs of Dallas, covering only a few square miles. Its map is defined by transport. The Dallas North Tollway runs north to south through town, Addison Airport stretches along the western side, and Belt Line Road crosses east to west as the main commercial street, lined with shopping centres and restaurants.
The town is known for its unusually high number of restaurants relative to its size, most of them clustered along Belt Line Road. Addison Circle, a planned mixed-use district with apartments and a central park, gives the town a denser, more walkable core than many of its neighbours. Each summer, the Kaboom Town fireworks show draws large crowds.
