Altotonga Map Poster & Print
Altotonga is a town in the mountainous interior of Veracruz, Mexico, well inland from the Gulf coast. From above, the centre follows a fairly regular grid around its main square, but the edges bend and break where the land drops into ravines or climbs towards surrounding slopes. Roads leave the town by winding routes that follow the contours of the hills.
The area sits at a higher altitude than much of Veracruz, with a cooler, wetter climate, and the surrounding land is used for farming and forestry. Streams descend from the hills around the town, cutting narrow valleys that appear on the map as fine, irregular lines between the blocks and fields.
