Andipalayam lies in the Tiruppur area of western Tamil Nadu, one of India's main centres for knitwear and garment manufacturing. Like many localities around the city, it combines housing with small workshops and units that supply the industry.
The map pattern is typical of a settlement caught up in urban growth. Older village lanes run irregularly around a centre, newer streets extend outward in more regular strips, and pockets of farmland still show between them. Roads linking the area to Tiruppur carry most of the traffic.
