Arlit Map Poster & Print
Arlit lies in northern Niger, on the western edge of the Aïr Mountains and deep in the Sahara. On a map the town appears as a compact cluster of streets surrounded by vast open space, with only a few roads and tracks leading away across the desert.
The town grew up to serve nearby uranium mines, and the map shows a mix of planned sections with regular blocks and more irregular neighbourhoods that developed around them. Mining areas and infrastructure lie outside the town itself, appearing as separate, sharply defined shapes in the empty landscape.
Arlit is one of the main centres of uranium mining in Niger, which has made it important well beyond its size. An Arlit map poster emphasises the stark contrast between the small, dense town and the surrounding desert, a composition that relies on white space as much as on lines.

Mining areas
Outside the town, the uranium mining sites appear as separate, clearly bounded shapes, giving the landscape a few strong geometric forms.
Desert roads
Only a few long roads and tracks connect Arlit to the rest of the region, drawn as thin lines running out across the empty page.

Arlitを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Arlit's map is striking because it is so sparse: a small town, a few roads, and the Sahara all around. It suits anyone with a connection to the town, as well as people who like minimal, graphic compositions.
