Bad Driburg lies in the east of North Rhine-Westphalia, between the Teutoburg Forest and the Egge Hills, in a valley surrounded by wooded slopes. It is a spa town, known for its mineral springs, and that shapes the map. A large landscaped park occupies a significant part of the town, with curving paths and ponds.
The spa tradition goes back centuries, and the Gräflicher Park, the historic spa park run by the same family for generations, remains the town's best-known place. The rest of the town spreads along the valley in a mix of older streets and later residential areas, with forest close at hand on the hills.
