Baijia is a town in Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin's eastern edge. The terrain shapes almost everything about the map. Roads follow valleys and ridgelines instead of running straight, and buildings cluster where the ground is level enough to build on. The result is an irregular, organic town shape with few straight lines.
Around the town, the countryside is a mix of steep slopes, farmland and small settlements connected by narrow roads. This part of Chongqing has been farmed intensively for a long time, and the land is marked by field boundaries that follow the contours of the hills. The main roads through Baijia bend to fit the terrain.
