Balţīm is a town on the northern edge of the Nile Delta in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate, on the narrow strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Burullus. From above, that position shapes everything: open sea to the north, a wide lagoon to the south, and the town laid out along the coast road that runs between them.
The older centre is a tight mesh of streets, while blocks of summer apartments and chalets line the beachfront. On the lagoon side, rectangular fish ponds and farm plots create a geometric pattern along the water's edge. The Balţīm map poster sets all three bands in one frame: sea, town and lake, each with its own texture.
Balţīm has long been a summer resort for Egyptian families, and its beaches fill during the hot months. Lake Burullus, the second largest of the Nile Delta lakes, is a protected area and an important stop for migrating birds. Its shallow waters and islands have supported fishing communities for generations.

Fish-farm geometry
Rectangular fish ponds and farm plots line the lake shore. They make a precise geometric pattern that gives the southern part of the poster an unusual texture.
