Brumado Map Poster & Print
Brumado lies in the south-central interior of Bahia, in a semi-arid landscape of scrubland, farmland and rocky ridges. From above the town is laid out largely on a grid, with straight streets and rectangular blocks spreading from the centre and main roads leading out across open country in several directions. The Brumado River passes nearby, adding a natural line to the pattern.
The town's economy is closely tied to mining, particularly of magnesite, and extraction sites in the surrounding hills form large, irregular shapes on the map, quite unlike the orderly streets of the town. Beyond them the land is sparsely settled, with farms and small communities scattered across wide stretches of dry country.
Hills and serras rise close to Brumado, giving the setting a defined edge that sets it apart from flatter towns of the sertão. A Brumado map poster keeps the focus on the town itself: its grid, its roads leaving for other parts of Bahia and the terrain that has shaped its work and daily life.

Brumado River
The river passes close to the town, a thin winding line that contrasts with the geometric streets and marks the lowest ground in the area.
Roads into the sertão
Highways leave Brumado in several directions, long lines that cross the dry countryside toward neighbouring towns and give the poster a sense of distance.
