Buritis Map Poster
Buritis is a relatively young municipality in Rondônia, in Brazil's western Amazon region. Like many towns in the state, it grew from agricultural settlement in recent decades, and its layout shows that origin clearly: a regular grid of wide, straight streets set out on flat land, with little of the irregularity found in older towns.
Rondônia is known for the long, parallel settlement roads that run through its farmland, a pattern that is visible from satellite imagery across the state. Around Buritis, the map shows similar straight roads heading out from the town into pastures and farms, with forest remaining in places.
