Burnaby lies between Vancouver and the eastern suburbs of the Lower Mainland, bounded by Burrard Inlet to the north and the Fraser River to the south. Its map is a mix of regular street grids, large green areas and winding roads that climb the slopes of Burnaby Mountain.
Central Park, Deer Lake and Burnaby Lake form a chain of open spaces through the middle of the city, visible as large, calm areas on the map. The SkyTrain lines run across Burnaby in long curves, and the high-rise district around Metrotown forms one of the densest clusters of streets.
