Cachoeira Map Poster & Print
Cachoeira lies on the banks of the Paraguaçu River in the Recôncavo region of Bahia, the fertile land around the Bay of All Saints. Across the river is the town of São Félix, and the two are linked by the Dom Pedro II bridge, an iron bridge from the nineteenth century that carries both road and rail.
Cachoeira's centre is one of the best-preserved colonial towns in Brazil, with churches, townhouses and narrow streets along the river. It played a role in the struggle for Bahian independence in 1822, and it is known for the Irmandade da Boa Morte, an Afro-Brazilian sisterhood whose August festival draws visitors each year.
A Cachoeira map poster brings together the river, the bridge and the old streets on either bank. The winding Paraguaçu forms a strong central line, and the two towns face each other like mirror images.

The iron bridge crosses the Paraguaçu, carrying road and rail between the two towns, a clear line linking both halves of the map.
Colonial historic centre
Narrow streets, squares and churches along the riverbank form one of Brazil's most complete colonial townscapes, drawn in fine detail.

Cachoeiraを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
For anyone who has walked Cachoeira's old streets or attended the Boa Morte festival, the map is a quiet reminder of the town, its river and its history.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the date of a visit, and choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper especially suits the colonial streets.
