Centerville Map Poster & Print
Centerville lies just south of Dayton in southwest Ohio, mostly in Montgomery County. It began in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries as a small crossroads settlement. The historic district around that original intersection holds one of the largest groups of early stone houses in Ohio, built from locally quarried limestone.
From above, Centerville reads like many postwar American suburbs, only with a clear historic anchor. The old crossroads sits near the centre, and around it looping residential streets, cul-de-sacs and subdivisions fill the land between main roads. Parks and wooded creek corridors break up the housing with softer, irregular shapes.
