Chaman Map Poster & Print
Chaman lies in northern Balochistan, on the border with Afghanistan, in a dry, open valley at the foot of the Toba Kakar mountains. From above, the town is a compact grid of streets and markets, with roads leading toward the border crossing on one side and toward the Khojak Pass and Quetta on the other. Beyond the built-up area, the land is largely open and bare.
Chaman is the terminus of the railway from Quetta, which reaches the town through the Khojak Tunnel, completed in the 1890s and one of the longest tunnels of its time in South Asia. The town faces Spin Boldak across the frontier and has long been an important trading point between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A Chaman map poster shows a town defined by its position: the dense market area, the road to the border, the railway line ending at the edge of the town and the open valley around it. It is a strong, spare composition for a place shaped by movement and trade.

Railway terminus
The line from Quetta, which passes through the Khojak Tunnel, ends at Chaman, drawing a long straight line into the town.
Arid valley
Open, largely unbuilt land surrounds the town, giving the map wide empty margins and a sharp outline.
