Chelora Map Poster
Chelora lies just inland of Kannur on Kerala's Malabar coast. It doesn't look like a conventional town from above. Houses spread along a dense network of lanes, each set in its own garden among coconut palms. There is no single centre. Instead, small junctions with shops and schools appear at intervals, and roads link them in an irregular web.
The landscape is typical of northern Kerala. Low laterite hills rise between narrow valleys, and the lower ground was traditionally paddy land and wetland. Streams drain toward the coast and the backwaters around Kannur. The settlement pattern follows this relief, with roads running along the higher ground and fields or water in the hollows.
A Chelora map poster captures that dispersed Kerala settlement pattern: lanes fanning across the land, dense but never tightly packed. In any of the five styles, it produces a delicate, almost lace-like design that differs sharply from the grid of a planned city.

The lower ground between ridges holds fields, wetlands and streams. These areas show up as open space between the lanes.
