Chodzież Map Poster & Print
Chodzież lies in the north of Greater Poland, in a landscape shaped by the last ice age. That history left behind lakes, hills and patches of forest. On a map, the town is defined by water. Several lakes press in against the built-up area, so the streets bend around shorelines instead of running in a simple grid.
The town is best known for porcelain. The factory founded here in the nineteenth century made Chodzież one of the recognised names in Polish tableware. The wooded hills to the south are unusually steep for this part of the country and are used for walking and, in winter, for skiing.

Chodzież has made porcelain since the nineteenth century, and its factory is still part of the town's identity and its industrial layout.
Wooded hills
Forested moraine hills rise south of the town. They create an irregular border of woods and footpaths around the built-up area.
