Chōrōd Map Poster & Print
Chōrōd is in Kozhikode district on the Malabar coast of northern Kerala, near the town of Vadakara. The land here is low and green, lying between the Arabian Sea and the rising midlands. On the map, the lanes do not form a grid. Instead, they wind between homestead plots, paddy fields and waterways.
The main coastal highway and the railway run north to south through this part of Kerala, cutting straight lines through the more organic local network. Houses are spread out across the landscape rather than packed into blocks, a typical Kerala settlement pattern that looks almost like woven fabric from above.
