Collierville is a town in Shelby County, Tennessee, east of Memphis. At its heart is a traditional town square with a park in the middle, framed by shops and bordered by the railway line. Around this compact historic core, the map spreads outward into curving residential subdivisions, golf courses and newer commercial roads, the typical pattern of a growing suburban town.
The Town Square is the most recognised part of Collierville, with its old train depot and historic storefronts. The town also has Civil War history: fighting took place here in 1863, in what is known as the Battle of Collierville. Today the square remains the centre of local events and daily life.
