Cota Map Poster & Print
Cota is a municipality in Cundinamarca just northwest of Bogotá, on the Sabana de Bogotá. It's separated from the capital by the Bogotá River. The municipality combines a small historic centre, farmland, greenhouses and business parks, and the map shows all of these side by side.
The town centre is a compact grid with a central plaza. Around it the flat savanna is divided into large plots, many of them used for crops and flower farms. The Cerro Majuy rises to the northwest and breaks the flat land with wooded slopes. Before the Spanish arrived, the area was home to Muisca communities, and the hill is still important locally.
