Degan Map Poster & Print
Degan is part of Jiangjin District in the south-west of Chongqing municipality, close to the Yangtze River. Like most of Chongqing, the ground is steep and broken, and the map shows it clearly. Roads twist to follow hillsides, and built-up areas stretch along ridges and down into valleys rather than spreading out in a flat grid.
The Yangtze makes wide bends through Jiangjin, and its broad channel dominates any map of the area. Newer residential districts, with long curving roads and large housing compounds, sit on the higher ground, while older lanes are closer to the valleys and the river.
A Degan map poster captures the typical texture of the Sichuan basin's hill cities. Streets don't run straight for long, blocks have irregular shapes, and the river is always nearby. It makes a dynamic print, full of movement even though every line is drawn quietly.
