Dingolfing Map Poster
Dingolfing lies on the Isar River in Lower Bavaria, in a broad valley between Landshut and Deggendorf. Its historic core has two parts: the lower town near the river and the upper town on a terrace above it, linked by steep streets. The map shows this division clearly, with the Isar running past in a wide, regulated channel.
The town is best known for the BMW plant that has grown here since the late 1960s and become one of the company's largest production sites in Europe. Its factory halls and rail sidings cover a larger area on the map than the historic centre itself, and they shape the town's economy and daily life.
