Egbe is a town in the Yagba area of western Kogi State, close to the Kwara border. The land around it is rolling and broken by rocky hills, typical of this part of Nigeria, and the street pattern follows it. Roads bend to go around high ground, and houses sit in clusters along the main routes rather than in a regular grid.
The town is widely known for its mission hospital, which was founded in the mid-twentieth century and has served patients from a large surrounding area for decades. Schools and churches are major institutions too, and each appears on the map as a larger compound set among smaller residential plots.
