Pond-dotted plain
Many small ponds surround the town. On the poster they form an irregular pattern of solid shapes across otherwise open ground.

Egra Map Poster & Print
Egra lies in Purba Medinipur district in the south-west of West Bengal, on low land not far from the Bay of Bengal and the border with Odisha. The map shows a compact centre where roads meet, then a wide spread of villages and fields joined by narrow lanes. Water is everywhere but at a small scale, in ponds and irrigation channels rather than in any single large river.
The town is a local hub for the surrounding farmland, with markets, schools and roads toward Contai and the seaside resort of Digha. Its character comes less from monuments than from its role as the place where the countryside around it comes to trade and study.
An Egra map poster is mostly about texture. It shows a knot of streets at the centre, lanes fanning out into the countryside and the scattered dark shapes of ponds. The design is understated and works well beside family photographs or as a reminder of a hometown on the coast road.

Roads to the coast
The main roads leave town toward Contai and Digha, drawing a few firm lines across a landscape of fine village paths.
Low, level ground
With no hills to bend them, streets and field boundaries run fairly straight, which gives the map a quiet, even grain from edge to edge.

Egraを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Egra is the kind of town people carry with them long after moving to Kolkata or further afield. A map of its streets and ponds is personal without being sentimental, and it fits easily into a hallway, a study or a small apartment.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates to suit, perhaps with a family name or the year you left. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a printed poster on matte paper or download the files for $9.
