Rail and interstate

Elko Map Poster & Print
Elko grew up around the Central Pacific Railroad in 1868, on the Humboldt River in northeastern Nevada. The map still shows that origin clearly: the rail line and Interstate 80 run parallel through the valley, and the town's grid of streets lies along them, squared off and orderly against the open sagebrush country that surrounds it on every side.
The Humboldt meanders past the town in loose, looping curves, a softer line beside the straight tracks and highway. Beyond, the land opens out in every direction, and to the southeast rise the Ruby Mountains, a range often called the Alps of Nevada for their glacial canyons and high alpine lakes.
Elko is known for the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, held each winter since 1985, and for a Basque heritage rooted in the sheepherders who settled across the region. An Elko map poster brings together the rail-town grid, the river and the edge of the desert in a single, clean composition.

Humboldt River
The river loops lazily along the edge of town, its meanders contrasting with the rigid grid of streets laid out beside the tracks.
Desert grid
Downtown's regular blocks give way to newer subdivisions and then to open land, a clear record of how a railroad stop became a regional centre.

Elkoを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Elko draws people with a strong sense of place: ranching families, mine workers, hunters heading for the Rubies, visitors who return every January for the poetry. A map of the town is a fitting reminder of wide horizons and a close community.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and pick from five styles, including Sand for a warm desert feel or Blueprint for a railroad-engineering look. HD files in six sizes cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
