Fada Map Poster
Fada is the capital of Ennedi-Ouest province in northeastern Chad, set on the approach to the Ennedi massif, a sandstone plateau rising from the Sahara. From above, the town is small and low: a loose arrangement of compounds and tracks on sandy ground, with dry watercourses running past it and rocky outcrops appearing toward the horizon.
The surrounding landscape is its real distinction. The Ennedi massif, with its eroded rock formations, arches and gorges, is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for both its natural and cultural value, including its rock art. Water is scarce and seasonal, so wadis and occasional pools shape where people, livestock and routes can move.
A Fada map poster is necessarily spare: a few lines for tracks, a small cluster of built ground, and the soft, branching forms of dry riverbeds. That restraint suits the place. In the Sand or Paper style especially, it becomes an almost abstract study of a settlement at the edge of the desert.
