Guiglo is a town in the west of Ivory Coast, in the forested region near the Liberian border. From above it is a medium-sized settlement with a central grid of streets that gradually loosens into residential areas, courtyards and lanes. Several regional roads cross here, making the town a crossroads in the west.
The surrounding landscape is humid and green, with plantations, fields and forest. The region is known for crops such as cocoa, coffee and rubber, and on a detailed map the plots and tracks around the town form a mosaic of land in use. A river flows nearby, adding a winding line to the composition.
