Gulābpura is a town in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, in the Mewar region. It sits on a broad, semi-arid plain between the Aravalli hills and the Banas basin. The land around it is flat and mostly farmed, so on a map the town appears as a concentrated mass of streets in an open landscape of fields and village tracks.
The older centre is dense and irregular, with narrow lanes and closely packed buildings typical of Rajasthani market towns. Newer areas spread along the main roads in more regular plots, and a railway line passes through the town. Bhilwara district is known for its textile industry, and Gulābpura's economy is tied to it.
