Iporá is a town in the west of Goiás, in central Brazil. It lies in the cerrado, a landscape of savanna and farmland with gently rolling hills. Like many towns in the region, it has a mostly regular grid of streets, with a main square and church near the centre and wider avenues crossing the town.
The surrounding municipality is mainly agricultural, with cattle and crop farms spread across large properties. Iporá serves as a regional centre for trade and services. Rural roads lead out from the town toward farms and smaller communities, and the highway connects it with other parts of the state.
