Itaperuna Map Poster & Print
Itaperuna lies in the northwest of Rio de Janeiro state, far from the coast, in a region of hills and farmland. The Muriaé River runs through the town, and it is the defining line on the map: the centre sits close to its banks, and bridges tie the neighbourhoods on either side together.
The streets follow a fairly regular pattern near the centre, becoming looser toward the outskirts, where roads climb onto low hills or run out toward the surrounding farms. Development follows the easier ground, so the town's outline stretches along the river rather than forming a neat circle.
Itaperuna is a regional centre for an agricultural area traditionally associated with cattle and dairy farming. An Itaperuna map poster presents a river town as it actually looks, with the Muriaé curving through a quiet grid and countryside close on every side.

Central grid
The older streets near the river form a fairly regular pattern, denser and more ordered than the neighbourhoods further out.
Hilly edges
At the edges, roads bend around low hills and fade into open farmland, giving the town an irregular, stretched outline.
