Right-angle grid
The town's regular blocks give the poster a clean geometric centre. This is typical of planned towns in Brazil's interior.

Itapuranga Map Poster & Print
Itapuranga is a municipality in central Goiás, in the cerrado region of Brazil's interior. As in many towns of the Centre-West, the urban area follows a fairly regular grid. Straight streets meet at right angles, and blocks of similar size spread out from the centre.
Beyond the grid, the map changes character. Open agricultural land surrounds the town, and roads run out through it toward neighbouring municipalities. Small watercourses cross the farmland and show up as thin, winding lines, a clear contrast with the straight streets of town.
An Itapuranga map poster works because of that contrast. The orderly urban blocks sit in the middle of a much looser landscape of fields and minor roads. In a minimalist black-and-white style the grid reads almost like a textile pattern placed on a wide, quiet background.

Cerrado farmland
Wide open land surrounds the town. It leaves plenty of empty space on the sheet, and that space makes the street grid look sharper.
Winding streams
Small watercourses curve through the countryside. They add soft, irregular lines that contrast with the straight town streets.
