Jingguan is a town in the Chongqing municipality, in the hill country north of the main urban districts. From above, it has the typical shape of the region. The streets follow the lowest ground, and the built area stretches along valleys between low ridges instead of spreading out in a regular pattern.
The land around the town is a mix of fields, woodland and small settlements, connected by roads and paths that bend with the terrain. As Chongqing's urban area grows outwards, towns like this sit between city and countryside, and the map shows that position clearly.
