Jubayt Map Poster & Print
Jubayt, also written Gebeit, lies in Sudan's Red Sea State, in the Red Sea Hills inland from Port Sudan. The land here is arid and rugged: bare ridges, broad dry wadis and sparse vegetation. On a map, the settlement appears as a small, compact cluster of streets and compounds in a wide, largely empty landscape.
The area has long been associated with gold mining, and old workings and tracks are part of the surrounding terrain. The town lies on the route between the coast and the interior of Sudan, and the transport line through the hills is one of the strongest features in its plan. Beyond the built-up area, tracks spread across the wadis towards scattered camps and settlements.
A Jubayt map poster is a spare composition: a small, concentrated centre, a few long lines of road and rail, and the fine traces of dry watercourses across the hills. In black and white, the emptiness around the town becomes part of the design.

Route through the hills
The transport corridor between the coast and the interior passes the town, a long, strong line running across the otherwise sparse map.
Dry wadis
Seasonal watercourses branch across the surrounding hills, leaving faint, tree-like patterns in the empty spaces of the poster.

Jubaytを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
For people with family ties to the Red Sea Hills or memories of working in the region, a map of Jubayt is a rare and personal image. Its sparseness also gives it a strong graphic quality.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, including with the alternative spelling Gebeit, and you can choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the desert landscape well.
