Branching lanes
Small lanes split off from the main roads to reach scattered homes. On the map they form a delicate, tree-like pattern.

Kallūr Vadakummuri Map Poster & Print
Kallūr Vadakummuri is in Thrissur district in central Kerala. Settlements here tend to spread along roads instead of clustering around a single centre, and it follows that pattern. On a map, houses and lanes stretch out through coconut groves, paddy land and garden plots. The result is a loose, organic network.
The lines on the map tend to follow the land. Roads curve with small rises and water channels, and narrow lanes branch off to reach individual homesteads. There is no strict grid and no hard edge. The built area flows into its neighbours, as it does across much of the densely populated Kerala countryside.
A Kallūr Vadakummuri map poster renders this soft, branching network in fine lines. It looks more like a leaf or a river system than a city plan, and that is exactly what makes it distinctive.

Linear settlement
Instead of a dense core, homes line the roads across a wide area. This settlement pattern is typical of central Kerala.
Green spaces
The areas between roads are plantations, gardens and paddy fields. On the print they are open space that balances the fine lines.
