Kāpas Herd is an urban village in south-west Delhi, close to the border with Gurugram and near Indira Gandhi International Airport. From above it is one of the densest patterns in the region, a mass of narrow lanes and closely built houses that leave little open space. Its outline is compact, surrounded by wider roads and larger plots.
The village has grown rapidly as a place to live for people working in the nearby industrial and commercial areas. That growth shows on the map as a fine, intricate texture that is quite different from the planned sectors around it.
