Lādnūn is a town in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, on the dry plains at the eastern edge of the Thar Desert. It is known as an important centre of Jain learning. The town is home to Jain Vishva Bharati, an institution linked to the Terapanth Jain tradition, whose campus forms a distinct area of the map.
The older town has the tight, irregular lanes common to historic Rajasthani settlements. Streets narrow, bend and open into small squares. Newer development spreads outward in straighter patterns, and roads head away across flat, sandy country toward neighbouring towns.
