Lalupon lies in Oyo State in southwestern Nigeria, just east of Ibadan, and serves as the headquarters of Lagelu Local Government Area. From above, the town appears as a compact settlement strung along its main roads, with streets and compounds gathered around the centre before opening out into farmland and wooded land.
The town sits on the gently rolling ground typical of this part of Yorubaland, and its roads connect it with the sprawl of Ibadan to the west.
