Luboń is a town immediately south of Poznań in Greater Poland, part of the city's suburban ring. It lies on the left bank of the Warta, and much of its layout follows the river and the rail line running south from Poznań. It grew as an industrial settlement in the early twentieth century, and it is still partly industrial today.
On a map Luboń is long and narrow. Streets run between the river on one side and the railway on the other, forming a roughly north-south strip. Housing ranges from older, regular blocks to newer estates of detached houses. Factory sites and green areas along the Warta break up the pattern at intervals.
