Marolambo is a town in the Atsinanana region of eastern Madagascar, set inland in the steep, forested hills between the central highlands and the Indian Ocean coast. On the map, the town is a small cluster of streets along a river valley, surrounded on all sides by rugged, largely undeveloped terrain.
The simplicity of the drawing is its strength. A Marolambo map poster shows a few lanes and paths gathered close to the water, with only faint routes leading away through the hills, conveying how isolated the settlement is compared with Madagascar's coastal towns and highland cities.
