Marutharōd is a census town on the edge of Palakkad in central Kerala. It lies in the broad lowland around the Palakkad Gap, the major break in the Western Ghats between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. On a map it looks like much of suburban Kerala: housing strung along roads, with green paddy land and small lanes between the built strips.
The main highway toward Coimbatore runs through the area. It draws buildings and shops along its length and gives the map a strong axis. Away from it the pattern loosens into a mix of narrow roads, compounds and fields. A Marutharōd map poster brings out this layered, semi-rural texture rather than a tidy grid.
