Massamagrell lies in l'Horta Nord, a few kilometres north of Valencia, on the fertile plain between the city and the Mediterranean. From above, the town is a compact core of streets surrounded by the huerta, the traditional irrigated farmland of the region, divided into narrow, regular plots and threaded with channels and farm tracks.
The contrast between the dense town and the finely divided fields around it gives the map its character. Metrovalencia Line 3 runs through the town toward Rafelbunyol, a straight line through the pattern. To the east, the land stretches toward the coast and the beach settlements nearby. Main roads link Massamagrell to its neighbours along the northern corridor out of Valencia.
