Mathura Map Poster & Print
Mathura sits on the west bank of the Yamuna, which curves along the city's eastern edge. On the map, the riverfront is lined by ghats, stepped landings leading down to the water, and the old city spreads inland behind them as a dense, irregular network of narrow lanes. Newer districts and the cantonment lie further out, with wider roads and a more regular grid.
Mathura is revered in Hindu tradition as the birthplace of Krishna, and the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex is one of the city's central landmarks. Vishram Ghat, on the Yamuna, is one of the most visited riverside sites. The town of Vrindavan, closely associated with Krishna's childhood, lies a short distance to the north along the same river.
A Mathura map poster traces the relationship between the Yamuna and the old city that grew beside it. The city was also an important centre of art in the Kushan period, and the Mathura school of sculpture is known well beyond India. From above, the tight weave of old lanes against the broad river makes for a striking pattern.

Old city lanes
Behind the ghats the streets narrow into an intricate network of lanes and small squares, the most detailed part of the map.
Road to Vrindavan
To the north, roads follow the river toward Vrindavan, linking two of the most important pilgrimage towns in the region.

Mathuraを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
For pilgrims, families from the Braj region and anyone who has walked down to the Yamuna at dusk, Mathura holds special meaning. A map of its ghats and lanes is a calm way to keep that memory close.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a festival date or a family name, add coordinates, and choose one of five styles. The Paper and Sand styles give the old lanes a warm, gentle tone.
