Mehestan lies in Alborz Province in northern Iran, on the gently sloping plain between the Alborz mountains and the lowlands to the south. The map shows a relatively young settlement. Its street pattern is mostly regular, with main roads crossing a fabric of residential blocks, and the edges keep spreading outward. Beyond them, farmland and open ground fill the space between neighbouring towns.
The province around it has grown quickly in recent decades as people moved out of the Tehran region into nearby towns. Mehestan is part of that pattern. It is a place of homes, schools and local shops rather than famous monuments, linked by road to Karaj and the wider metropolitan area. Its layout reflects that recent and practical growth.
