Miano Map Poster & Print
Miano is a quarter on the northern edge of Naples, on the higher ground that rises above the historic centre. On a map it shows a tight, irregular fabric. Old village streets remain at its core, surrounded by larger blocks of postwar housing and roads linking it to neighbouring quarters and to the rest of the city below.
Like several districts on Naples' northern fringe, Miano began as a separate farming village and was absorbed as the city grew during the twentieth century. To the south lies the Bosco di Capodimonte, the great wooded park around the royal palace and museum, which appears on the map as a large green space between the quarter and the centre.
A Miano map poster records a part of Naples that visitors rarely see, but that is home to many Neapolitans. The mix of the old village core, modern blocks and the open woods to the south makes for a rich and characterful composition.
