Moers Map Poster & Print
Moers lies on the left bank of the Lower Rhine, just west of Duisburg. At its heart is a small old town whose outline still follows the curve of its former fortifications. The castle sits at one corner of it, surrounded by water and by the Schlosspark, which stretches out as a large green space next to the historic streets.
Around that core, the town expanded in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries with coal mining, and the map shows former colliery districts, rail lines and the autobahns crossing the area. Moers is also known for the moers festival, an adventurous international music event that has run since the early 1970s.
