Natham is a town in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu, in the interior of the state between the plains and the hill ranges to the west. It sits on the road network linking Dindigul, Madurai and other towns in the region, and on the map, it takes the form of a compact settlement centred on its main routes.
The older part of town has closely packed streets and lanes, typical of market towns in this part of India, while newer residential areas spread out along the roads leading away. Around the edges, farmland and dry scrub take over, and rocky hills in the vicinity add variety to the landscape and interrupt the flat terrain.
