Netrakona Map Poster & Print
Netrakona is a district town in the Mymensingh Division of northern Bangladesh. From above, it is a compact cluster of streets beside a river, set on a flat plain of rice fields and water. Roads and a railway line lead out of town, and the fine pattern of paddies, ponds and village clusters reaches to every edge of the map.
The wider district is known for its haors, the broad seasonal wetlands of northeastern Bangladesh that flood in the monsoon and turn into fields in the dry season. To the north, the land rises towards the Garo Hills across the Indian border. Netrakona lies between these two landscapes, a market town serving a largely rural area.
