Od is a town in Anand district, Gujarat, in the area known as Charotar. This flat and fertile tract between the Mahi and Sabarmati rivers is known for its agriculture and for its long tradition of emigration. On the map, Od appears as a dense core of lanes and houses surrounded by open farmland.
The older part of town has closely packed streets that twist and meet at irregular angles, a pattern typical of Gujarati towns that grew gradually around neighbourhoods and communities. Newer housing extends outward along the roads. Village tanks and ponds, common across Charotar, appear as small shapes of water among the streets and fields.
