Old Harbour Map Poster & Print
Old Harbour lies in the parish of Saint Catherine, on Jamaica's south coast west of Spanish Town. The town itself sits a little inland, built around a central square, while the fishing community of Old Harbour Bay sits on the shore to the south. On a map the two are linked by a road running down to the water.
The bay is part of Portland Bight, a wide stretch of coast with mangroves, shallow water and small cays, including the Goat Islands offshore. The shoreline here is uneven and soft, with inlets and mangrove edges instead of a straight beach.
In the town square stands an old cast-iron clock tower, a familiar local landmark. Main roads toward Kingston and the west pass nearby, and farmland and new housing surround the centre.
