Oulad Ayad is a town in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region of central Morocco, set on the Tadla plain, one of the country's major irrigated agricultural areas. From above, the most striking feature is not the town itself but the geometry around it: long, straight irrigation channels and rectangular field parcels that stretch across the flat land in every direction.
The town's own streets form a modest grid of blocks around a central core, with the main roads to neighbouring towns running out through the farmland. Agriculture shapes daily life here, and the area has long been associated with crops such as sugar beet that rely on the canal network fed by the Oum Er-Rbia basin.
