Pélézi is a town in the Haut-Sassandra region of central-western Ivory Coast. The land here lies between the forest zone to the south and the more open country to the north. It is farming territory, and the town serves as a local centre for the surrounding villages.
From above, Pélézi is laid out along its main roads, with blocks of housing on either side and lanes running off into the edges of cultivated land. Nothing is monumental. The interest lies in how the settlement spreads out from its crossroads and how quickly it gives way to fields and tracks.
